Features
Acrobat Classic is the latest desktop-only version of Acrobat. It simplifies everyday PDF tasks and includes many productivity enhancements when working with PDFs from your desktop.
Introducing the new Acrobat experience
Adobe Acrobat Classic offers a streamlined interface that speeds up tool discovery and simplifies PDF tasks. The intuitive and clutter-free design focuses on easy access to frequently used tools, allowing for efficient work on documents. Menus, toolbars, and panels are organized for quick tool access, and the interface is customizable, letting you personalize your toolbar with your preferred tools.
Star your important files for easy access
You can now star your important files in Acrobat Classic. You can find all your starred files from the Starred tab in the Home view. A filled star icon in Recent indicates that the file is starred. When you unstar a file, the file is removed from the Starred tab.
Create a form from scratch
Acrobat now allows the creation of a form from scratch using a blank page.
Extract discontinuous pages from a PDF
You can now select and extract discontinuous pages from the page thumbnails in the left navigation pane of Acrobat.
Improved Export PDF experience
Multiple enhancements are made to the Export PDF tool resulting in improvements in the following areas:
- Detection of hybrid and borderless tables.
- Handling of rotated tables.
- Background and overlapping objects (Z-order) processing in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Header and subscript detection in Microsoft Word.
Enhanced document accessibility tagging
Acrobat Classic now includes upgraded accessibility tagging features to make PDF documents and forms more navigable and user-friendly for individuals with accessibility needs. These enhancements actively improve interactions with assistive technologies such as screen readers, presenting all content in an orderly and understandable manner. We've made adding and editing tags more straightforward, simplifying the process of defining document structure and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. This update reaffirms our commitment to inclusivity, ensuring everyone can access information effortlessly.
Microsoft Purview Information Protection support in Acrobat
Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP) is a Microsoft rights management solution that enables rights-based access to assets, including PDF documents. Acrobat Classic supports consistent viewing of PDFs protected by Microsoft Purview Information Protection. In addition, for organizations standardizing on MPIP, we have launched the native experience in this release to apply and edit Information Protection sensitivity labels and policies to your PDFs within Acrobat. Additionally, MPIP is now included with the default installer to simplify the setup process.
